Scraplifting as a stepping stone

by - November 10, 2011

Another prompt from Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party was to 'scraplift' someone else's layout and make it your own. When I saw this layout of Kinsey's, I knew I wanted to scraplift it. ;)

I had few photos of Talha that I had taken randomly while I was photographing something else. Those photos came out so well that I wanted to have it in my scrapbook album asap. And Kinsey'e layout was just the inspiration I was looking for.

I made banners from scraps of paper. I've papers from Studio Calico's October kit, October Afternoon's 5&Dime collection, Echo Park Paper's Summer Collection in one layout! lolz!

I wanted the colour theme to be blue to go with Talha's tee shirt. So I chose blue patterened papers. But I didn't have many and decided to add a bit of other colours here and there. I've used Jillibean Soup's Kraft Corrugated Alphas again. :) I painted them with a mix of Prussian Blue and White fabric paints. Cut out clouds for embellishments. Couldn't figure out where to do the journalling. So decided to write around the layout - another idea I picked up from Shimelle. ;))

I'am mighty happy with this layout.. don't know why :))
