While I was putting together my Ramadan Journal mini album last year, I was a bit angry at myself for having way too many food photos. Nothing wrong with sharing food photos during Ramadan. I had started out with the whole concept so that I could document about other stuff in life rather than what we had for Iftar or Suhoor. Like any festival, food is an important part of Ramadan too. But we are asked to keep ourselves away from food among other things. So the journal should also be a bit less about food, right? Am I making any sense here?
So this year, I'am trying to force myself to not share food photos on the blog or Instagram during Ramadan. I have been pushing myself to creatively use the prompts. But today, since the prompt is Iftar, I gave myself some leeway.
We had some stuffed baby marrow for Iftar today. This is the second time I have cooked this dish and it came out better than the first time. You can find the recipe on Mideats here. Their recipe calls for beef, but I used minced lamb. You can also make a vegetarian version by skipping meat.
