Day 14 - Now Playing

I took this photo while Aisha and I were playing with Talha's yellow school bus. It's a new toy he got from his favorite Noorie aunty. He is quite protective about it and will share it with us only if he is in a good mood.

Day 15 - Me

The one in blue is Me. With my Father and sisters. At a park in Delhi. Eons ago. Seems like only yesterday though.

We are halfway through Ramadan. Alhamdulillah. How has it been for you? So far things have been pretty smooth in this household. Alhamdulillah. Yes, it is quite tiring in Dubai's scorching heat and humidity.  But we get through. With a little resolve and a lot of help from above.

I was sitting and thinking about my goals for this Ramadan and how far I have achieved them. I think I have done pretty well. Masha Allah. There were couple of bad days. That is okay, I guess. Failures are part of the journey.

I struggle a lot with waking up in the morning. I'am more of a night owl. I prefer working during the silence of night. But that affects my Fajr prayers. I'am not sure whether you have read my post about the half marathon I ran last year. Registrations have open for this year's race and I'am very keen on doing it again. It is a lot of work though. A lot of training with tiring and sleepy nights. I prefer training in the morning but due to Talha's school timings I end up training in the evening. To top it all, I haven't run properly in weeks. Confusing much? I was thinking about it all and pondering over what I should do and came across this video. The Devil's three knots. Do watch it.

This hadith resonates with me a lot. My first struggle is always getting off the bed. Once Iam off the bed and have some cold water over my face, there is no stopping me. Saying Fajr prayers on time gives me the courage and strength to face the day. No matter how hard it looks at first.

Hopefully, I will be able to continue with what I have achieved so far this Ramadan. Let's see.

See you soon Insha Allah. xx

  1. Loved this post, Neelu! I could resonate with a lot of what you said. My workouts have reached a full stop with Ramadan, even though I had initially planned on at least doing some weights post Iftar. This Ramadan seems to be going by so fast, there's hardly time for anything! The video was scary but very effective - thanks for sharing :-)

  2. I can identify with you about the getting up in morning bit. ..I can stay up all night but getting up even an hour early is so difficult! All the best
