|Talha's drawing about how he goes to the Mosque|
Have you heard of the quote that says 'we met for a reason, either you are a blessing or a lesson'? I've come to believe that whoever we meet, we meet them for a reason. When I met Salomie, never in my wildest dreams did I think we would remain friends for so long (over six years), and actually end up working together.
We did our Masters together and had met couple of times to share notes (she lived in Abu Dhabi at the time). I was so excited to personally meet a fellow student - we were studying online and giving our exams at British Council. And now? Salomie just joined the PPS Team as Social Media Assistant. Masha Allah!
Salomie's four year old daughter, who is one of the most thoughtful child you could meet, and her passion for baking keeps her busy. You should check out her blog to read more about Krissy and her incredible cookie making tutorials.
Let's find out what she is up to these days?
Working on – my new job ;D. Also on a couple of sweet decorating projects that will hopefully turn out well enough to blog about.
Listening to – Windows are Rolled Down by Amos Lee.
Thinking – of family.
Reading – J. D. Robb’s In Death series.
Watching – whatever the child watches :D. But once she’s safely tucked in for the night, if we’re not too zonked out, we’ve been catching up on the roller coaster ride that is Breaking Bad.
Anticipating – the onset of winter! I have realized that I’d much rather shiver in the cold than melt in the heat.
Eating – a couple of these oatmeal & raisin cookies.
Wishing – for an opportunity to travel soon.
Planning – for school enrolments! Cannot believe we’re at this stage already!
Thankful for – all my blessings, too numerous to count.
Listening to podcasts of Design Sponge. I have always loved reading her Biz Ladies posts and now After The Jump podcasts are a real bonus.
Working on getting my act together. My eating habits and running are not where I want them to be. I need to get back to healthy meals and jogging track.
Eating mangoes. Last week I made this mango cream pudding four times. Once it was for us and rest were for parties/get togethers. Mangoes mangoes everywhere.
Wishing time would just slow down for a bit. I hardly get to hang out with Talha these days. Once he is back from school, he gets busy with cartoons or his friends, then Quran class with his Ustad, home work, Isha prayers at a nearby mosque with his Father and then straight to bed. All I get are few glimpses here and there. Sigh!
Thankful for Salomie. It is such a relief to have a trustworthy person take care of an important part of my store. Alhamdulillah.
