Ramadan Journal 2014 I Week 1
First week of this Ramadan is coming to an end. We have settled in well and things are, kind of, running smoothly. Alhamdulillah.
I must admit that I do miss the journaling/photography prompts from previous years. Having a list did make things easier. That said, I think, I've been a bit more creative at documenting this Ramadan by taking photos of different aspects of our lives rather than our meals, and the #gratefulfor has turned out to be a quick outlet for my writing.
Finish recitation of the Holy Quran with translation at least once - working on it.
Learn a short chapter (or few verses of a long chapter) from the Holy Quran - I had memorized first part of Surah Al Rahman (55:1-45) sometime in March / April and wanted to finish the rest this month. Alhamdulillah, I've reached verse 69 so far.
Say Tahajjud prayers at least ten times - working on it.
Learn three new prayers (duas) - learnt one, two more to go, Alhamdulillah.
Read an Islamic book with our children - haven't done yet.
Read an Islamic book with our children - haven't done yet.
Donate food or clothes with our children watching - Done, Alhamdulillah.
Help a random stranger - Done, Alhamdulillah.
Tell a non-Muslim friend about Ramadan - Done, Alhamdulillah.
Write down one thing we are grateful for, in our journal, every day - So far, I've written every other day.
If you have been documenting your Ramadan, through words or photos, I would love to read about it. Do leave a link in comments.
