Day 28+29 | Reflect + Eid Prep | Ramadan Journal 2015

This has been the most emotionally excruciating Ramadan for my family and I. We were down and low when Ramadan started and are slowly getting back to normal. However, this experience has been a good reminder of how fragile our lives are and how easily we get carried away with day to day activities that aren't really important. We all need to slow down a bit, spend more time with our family - who knows who is going to be here or not tomorrow - and enjoy every bit of our life in the most wholesome way. Pray hard and work harder. A kind deed and word here and there. Smile even when things get tougher and tougher.

Eid Prep

29 already??! Eid Prep. It is going to be a low key affair with the usual dishes - samosa and other snacks for morning tea; biryani, beef masala and pudding for lunch. Mom will make her much loved almond rice pudding, sister will make her famous beef masala. Insha Allah. Trying not to think of evening tea and dinner with all the food coma during the day.
