Spark On With Neelu | Day 9 | Make Use of Technology

by - July 26, 2016

In our culture, having a dishwasher meant we are lazy to do our dishes. 'Why do we need another machine when we can wash our own utensils?' was the philosophy we were brought up with. Whenever J mentioned getting a dishwasher I would say no for the same reason. 'I can do it myself, I don't need yet another machine in my house; it is going to cost us a bomb and let's not start with water usage!' Then we learned about Amina's arrival. J decided to purchase one saying that my responsibilities are only going to increase and I would need help. I agreed. Half-heartedly.

Thankfully, we were able to get one at a really good price from Carrefour. Now, every other night, when the last thing I want do is do dishes, I ask myself how did I live without one all these years. Ha! I load it once daily after dinner, twice if we have guests or a party. As per our DEWA bills, we are actually saving a lot on water, which gives my environment conscious self some peace of mind.

Please do not go running to your husband asking him to get you a dishwasher. Haha! The point I am trying to make here is that we need to embrace technology in our daily lives if it is going to make us more productive. Shall I tell you about my food processor? Just kidding!

PS. Doughnut photo is just to grab your attention.
