How many times have we cut off people while they were telling us something important thinking our side of the conversation was more important?
How many times have we commented on someone else's photo asking a question which was clearly answered in the caption?
How many times have we.. ok let me get to the point before you lose interest.
The other day I spoke about sharing our knowledge, teaching others whatever little we knew. Today I wanted to talk about being on the other side - the one who is learning, the student. We often complain that there aren't people around us who support and mentor us. Often times we do, they are around us, right next to us. We just don't see them as we don't listen to them.
So, listen. Listen with the intent to understand, not the intent to reply. ~ Stephen Covey
